Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

Albany detectives arrested a 38-year-old Clifton Park woman who was in possession of drugs Wednesday morning on Central Avenue.

On Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at around 9:15 a.m., detectives from the Community Response Unit conducted a traffic stop on the 900 block of Central Avenue in reference to an ongoing investigation. The driver of the vehicle, Catherine Berhaman was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine, powder cocaine, and fentanyl.

Berhaman was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and one count of Criminally using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd.

In addition, the passenger 24-year-old Nasshaleek Browne of Albany was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine and Fentanyl.

Browne was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th and one count of Criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd.

Berhaman and Browne were both arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and Released.
