Schenectady man charged in connection with a slashing incident

A 32-year-old Schenectady man has been charged in connection with a slashing incident that occurred inside a store on Quail Street.

On Saturday, January 6, 2024 at around 2:20 a.m. officers responded to 212 Quail Street for reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old male with severe lacerations to his face. The victim was treated on scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Through further investigation, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit were able to determine and identify 32-year-old Jaquan Williams as the suspect in connection with this incident.

The victim and the suspect were involved in a verbal altercation prior to the victim being slashed in the face with a knife.

Jaquan Williams has been charged with one count of Assault 1st and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd.

He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and Remanded to Albany County Jail.
