
Parolee Found with Loaded Handgun, Drugs on Lexington Avenue

ALBANY, NY – A 34-year-old parolee is facing weapon and drug charges after he was found to be illegally possessing a loaded handgun and a quantity of narcotics Thursday on Lexington Avenue.
On Thursday, May 18, 2023 around 1:10 p.m., detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Community Response Unit, in conjunction with our law enforcement partners at the Division of New York State Parole, stopped Lameik Kindred on Lexington Avenue between Central Avenue and Sherman Street following information that he was armed with a handgun. During the investigation, Kindred was found to be illegally possessing a loaded 7.62 x 25 caliber handgun that he had concealed in a bag.
In addition, he was found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine which he had concealed in his clothing and also attempted to swallow during his arrest.
Kendrid was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, one count of Tampering with Evidence and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.
He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
