Parolee Charged with Handgun, Drug Possession
ALBANY, NY – A 44-year-old Albany man who has a history of handgun possession was found with a loaded handgun and cocaine Thursday night at his home in Albany
On Thursday, March 10, 2022 around 8:20 p.m., Albany detectives, along with New York State parole officers, visited with Brian Roach at his residence on Catherine Street. While at the residence, Roach was found to be in possession of a loaded .380 caliber handgun, as well as a quantity of cocaine and materials used to sell and distribute narcotics.
Roach was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd.
He was arraigned morning Friday in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
Roach was released to the supervision of New York State Parole on November 19, 2020 after serving time in prison for a 2018 incident that occurred on Green Street in the City of Albany. During that incident, Roach threated a woman by pointing a loaded .380 caliber handgun at her while she was with her one-year-old child. A loaded .380 caliber handgun was recovered by Albany police officers during that investigation.
