
Man who fired handgun on Morton Avenue Arrested

A 22- year-old man has been charged in connection with an incident of shots fired that occurred this morning on Morton Avenue.
On August 13, 2023 around 1:10 A.M. officers responded to the area of Morton Avenue and Eagle Street for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence of gunfire and began to conduct an investigation.
Through further investigation, it was determined that the suspect, Zion Gaddy was responsible for the shots fired and had fired at least one round at a fleeing vehicle.
Gaddy was taken into custody shortly after the incident.
A search warrant was conducted at a residence on the 100 block of Morton Avenue by the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit and a Byrco .380 handgun was recovered.
Gaddy was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, one count of Reckless Endangerment 1st and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th.
He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to Albany County Jail.
