
Man Walking on South Pearl Street with Loaded Handgun in Pocket Arrested by Albany Detectives

ALBANY, NY – An 18-year-old Schenectady man is facing weapons charges after he was observed walking down South Pearl Street with a loaded handgun.
On Monday, May 1, 2023 around 5:00 p.m., an Albany detective observed a man walking on South Pearl Street near Morton Avenue with what appeared to be a handgun in his pocket. When detectives approached the man near the intersection, he was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun.
Quadir Gibson was taken into custody and charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th.
He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
