Man with Outstanding Warrants from Previous Theft Arrests, Arrested Again Wednesday for Stealing from Quail Street Store

ALBANY, NY – A 36-year-old Albany man with a history of stealing items from convenience stores was arrested Wednesday morning for stealing from a store on Quail Street.

On Wednesday, June 14, 2023 around 9:00 a.m., officers responded to 212 Marketplace, located at 212 Quail Street for reports of a larceny. Upon arrival, the victim told officers that a man who routinely comes into the store and steals items, entered the store again this morning and stole beer.

While officers were on scene speaking with the victim, the suspect, 36-year-old Zacharry Patnode of Albany, entered the store again and attempted to steal beer.

He was taken into custody and charged with one count of Petit Larceny.

In addition, he was arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant issued out of Albany City Criminal Court for a previous larceny incident. On October 26, 2022 around 6:20 a.m., Patnode entered Lark Central, located at 218 Lark Street and stole items from inside.

He was also arrested on the strength of a bench warrant issued on June 2, 2023 out of Albany City Criminal Court for Failure to Appear on a previous Grand Larceny arrest in Albany.

Patnode was arraigned Wednesday morning in Albany City Criminal Court where bail was set at $5,000. He has since been sent to the Albany County Jail.
