Man charged for assault on Central Avenue

Albany, NY -  On August 1, 2023 around 8:15p.m. officers responded to a home at Townsend Park apartments for reports of an assault.  Upon arrival, a male victim told officers that while inside the residence James Holmes, a person known to him assaulted him by slashing him in the head and face.   The victim sustained non -life threatening lacerations to his head, face and hand.

On August 11, 2023 a search warrant was executed at Townsend Park apartments by The Albany Police Departments Criminal Investigation Unit where Holmes was located and taken into custody. 

Holmes was charged with one count of Assault 2nd and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd

He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
