Handgun Recovered Following An Investigation On Livingston Avenue

A 68-year-old Albany man has been charged with weapon possession following a call for bullet holes found in a door at a residence.
On August 17, 2023 around 11:45 A.M. officers responded to the 500 block of Livingston Avenue for reports of a bullet hole in the door of a residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence consistent with gunfire and began to conduct an investigation.
A search warrant was executed by the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit and a Ruger LC9 handgun was recovered.
Harold Cowan was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd.
He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to Albany County Jail.
