
Firearms Recovered Following an Investigation of a Stolen Vehicle

A 50-year-old Albany man who was in possession of a stolen vehicle was arrested Sunday evening on South Pearl Street.
On Sunday, September 3, 2023 around 10:55 p.m., Albany police officers stopped a vehicle on the 400 block of South Pearl Street in reference to a recent stolen vehicle investigation. During the traffic stop, the officers also discovered that the driver illegally possessed a loaded 9mm handgun as well as a loaded Archangel which were located in the passenger seat of the vehicle.
The driver, James Ford was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd, one count of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd
He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
