Arrest Made In Second Street Shooting

A 41-year-old Albany man has been charged in connection with a shooting incident that occurred Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
On Tuesday, August 29, 2023 around 5:15 p.m. officers responded to the 200 block of Second Street for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 38-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest and groin area.
The victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Through the investigation, detectives determined that Michael Johnson fired several shots from a handgun at the victim which caused him to sustain his injury.
Johnson has been charged with one count of Attempted Murder 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd.
He was arraigned Tuesday in Albany City Criminal Court and Remanded to the Albany County Jail.
