Arrest Made in Second Avenue Burglary
A 46-year-old Albany man has been charged in connection with a burglary on Second Avenue.
On January 7, 2024 around 3:20 a.m., officers responded to 149 Second Avenue for reports of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed evidence of forced entry into the store. The suspect was off scene prior to officers arrival.
While on scene officers spoke to a man that observed the suspect coming out of the store with a cash register and confronted him. The suspect displayed a knife and attempted to stab him and then fled on foot.
Furthering their investigation, officers were able to track foot prints in the snow and located Henry Villalongo in the area of Krank Street and Seymore Avenue. Villalongo was ultimately identified as the suspect related to this incident.
Villalongo was found to be in possession of a pocket knife, a flash light, and a screwdriver.
He has been charged with one count of Burglary 3rd, one count of Robbery 1st, one count of Possession of Burglar’s Tools, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, and one count of Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd.
Villalongo was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and Remanded to the Albany County Jail.
