Arrest Made in Multiple Facebook Marketplace Larcenies

A 17-year-old Albany resident has been arrested in connection with six separate Facebook marketplace larcenies in which the victims were attempting to sell items they posted.
On six separate occasions from August 25, 2023 through September 28, 2023 Officers responded to several calls for reports of a larceny where the victims agreed to meet the suspect at a specified location in order to sell an iPhone or iPad that they recently posted to the site Facebook Marketplace. When arriving the suspect would take the item and flee.
No injuries were reported during any of these incidents.
The 17-year-old whose name will not be released due to his age has been charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, one count of Robbery 1st, two counts of Grand Larceny 4th and two counts of Petit Larceny.
He was arraigned Wednesday evening in Albany City Police Court and Released.
