Arrest Made in March Shots Fired Incident

ALBANY, NY – An 18-year-old Albany man has been charged with firing several rounds at an occupied vehicle back in March on Orange Street.

Anthony Carter was arrested following an investigation by detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit.

On Friday, March 17, 2023 around 5:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of Orange and Robin Streets for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence of gunfire and began to conduct an investigation.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

Through their investigation, detectives identified Carter as a suspect in the incident and determined that while on Orange Street, he fired several rounds from a 9mm handgun towards a vehicle that was occupied by three passengers.

Carter has been charged with three counts of Attempted Murder 2nd and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd.

He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
