Arrest Made in Elberon Place Robbery

A 20-year-old and an 18-year-old were both arrested yesterday afternoon for a robbery that occurred on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

On Wednesday, February 7, 2024 a report was taken at Center Station in regard to a robbery that occurred in the area of Elberon Place and S. Lake Avenue at around 6:00 p.m. The victim told police that 20-year-old Kygii Humes pointed a handgun at him and demanded the victim to give him his cell phone. 18-year-old Alahvion Snipes was also in possession of the handgun during the course of the robbery.

The victim was unharmed during this incident.

Through further investigation, Humes and Snipes were both observed in the area of Delaware Avenue and Morris Street on Friday, February 9, 2024 around 4:00 p.m., officers and detectives responded and upon arrival, Humes and Snipes were taken into custody. Snipes was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.

Humes was charged with one count of Robbery 1st, one count of Robbery 2nd and one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th.

He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and Sent to Albany County Jail.

Snipes was charged with one count of Robbery 1st, one count of Robbery 2nd , and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd.

He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and Sent to Albany County Jail.
