
Albany Police Officers Recover Handgun During Livingston Avenue Domestic Incident

On Tuesday, November 7, 2023 around 5:40 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Livingston Avenue for reports of a person with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers were met by a female who told them that while inside a residence on the 200 block of Livingston Avenue a 17-year-old male assaulted her.
Through their investigation, it was determined that the suspect who was later identified and taken into custody hit her in the head with a handgun causing her to sustain injury.
The victim was treated on scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Children and Family Service Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on the 300 block of Livingston Avenue in reference to the ongoing investigation. During the search warrant, detectives recovered a loaded handgun.
The 17-year-old whose name will not be released due to his age has been charged with one count of Assault 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th.
In addition, he was also charged with Reckless Endangerment 1st and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd in relation to a shots fired incident that occurred on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 in the area of Lark Street and Second Street.
He was arraigned Tuesday evening and remanded to Albany County Juvenile Secure Detention.
